What can you not do after varicocele surgery?
As sitting and laying down for extended periods can increase your risk for blood clots, it’s a good idea to get up and walk around slowly every two to three hours after the initial rest day. Allow your varicocele to heal by avoiding any heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling for at least one week after surgery.
What are the possible side effects of this procedure?
fluid buildup around your testicle (hydrocele)
difficulty peeing or fully emptying your bladder.
redness, inflammation, or drainage from your incisions.
abnormal swelling that doesn’t respond to cold application.
Does sperm count increase after varicocele surgery?
Varicocele surgery can lead to improved fertility in that it may achieve the following: Sperm count and sperm quality may improve. Testosterone levels may return to normal. Pain related to a varicocele may be improved.
