Cardiac ablation is a method of treating irregular heartbeats. The electrical message that triggers the heartbeat must reach the heart precisely. Any disturbance in these processes causes a regular heartbeat, which can sometimes be treated with cardiac ablation.
Cardiac ablation is a procedure used to correct heart problems. During a heartbeat, the contractile electrical pulses must travel precisely through the heart. Any disturbance in these pulses can cause an abnormal heartbeat or arrhythmia. Sometimes these pulse abnormalities can be treated with cardiac ablation.
Cardiac ablation or burning is widely used today to treat tachycardia or rapid heartbeat. A catheter is used for ablation.
Catheters are flexible wires that have an electrode at the end and are maneuverable inside the heart. Catheters are used to accurately record the electrical activity of the heart.
For most people with an irregular heartbeat(arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat), ECG or other routine tests do not provide enough information.

Our patients’ experience of Healtha treatment
Arrhythmias are disorders of your heart’s electrical system, which means there is a change in the regular beat of your heart. This can be as a result of the conduction pathway being damaged or blocked, or because an extra pathway is present. The heart may beat too quickly (tachycardia), or too slowly (bradycardia) or irregularly, all of which may affect the heart’s ability to pump blood around the body. These abnormal heart beats are known as arrhythmia. An arrhythmia may occur at any age, and are most often a nuisance rather than a serious problem.
Most arrhythmia treatments can be done as a day case or with one night in hospital.
You will be made as comfortable as possible, but you will not be under general anesthesia. You will be in what is considered “twilight sleep” and you will be dozing off and on. You probably won’t remember much from the procedure.
